Dandelion Hiking is for the dreamers among us who, their imaginations running wild,
enjoy exploration and adventure in all four seasons.
They stay away from the metropolitan areas and fancy resorts; instead they set off to seek unique places, where the population is scattered and the modern world forgotten.
They don't rely on the typical facilities of the tourism industry but love to
eat, sleep and travel like locals. They can endure uncomfortable transportation in pursuit of adventure. Their cost of traveling is the least expensive and they want it to benefit the local residents.
Chinahiking-Dandelion is about
fun and small group exploration (max.10 people) . There are no tours of the Forbidden City, capital museum or Terracotta Warriors. Instaed we
leave the beaten track in search for real culture and nature.
The trails you hike are what they always have been without human restoration. The scenery your eyes will witness tells a history of its own.
About us
Hi, my friends, I am Heidi. I come from the beautiful grasslands of, Hulun Buir, Inner Mongolia.
Time has passed swiftly, another spring is coming.
It has been several years since I came to Beijing. I spent my springtime in this city.
Maybe you are like me, although there are so many drawbacks to living in Beijing, we still love her without knowing exactly why.
Like other "Beijing drifters" who come to Beijing with pure ideal in mind, I also experience similar bewilderment, exploration and anticipation.
I have climbed mountains over 200 times in the past several years and almost finished the 600 kilometers of the Great Wall around Beijing.
If you like, I am glad to go out and show you around or we can go out and explore some new places together.

Hey Travel people, I'm Fred. I was born in a small country called Belgium and grew up in an even smaller town called Brugge. Just like most of you I ended up in an office spending most of my time dreaming about traveling. One day I bought myself a one way ticket to India and ended up traveling and hiking around Asia for over 3 years. Zigzagging Asia my path crossed China several times. I discovered china's beautiful nature, interesting philosophy and culture and somehow weird habits. For me life in China is like a theater. Every day the red curtain opens again and a new story is unfolding in front me. Let's enjoy tomorrow,s show together!
About Beijing
Beijing stories are countless.
From Peking Man 700 thousand years ago, to the ancient capital of five dynasties, it’s said that Beijing in the ancient time was beautiful, surrounded on three sides by mountains. Its shape was like a bay, after being impacted by a Yongding river flood, so it was named Beijing Bay. But how about Beijing today?
