This 20km hike is one of our harder ones but also one of the most beautiful ones. There really is no better place than this Yangbian Great wall to set up your tent and enjoy dinner with a bottle wine.
This Great Wall trek starts at a tiny farm village. It will take us a good half hour climb trough the fields to get to the wall. The rest of the trekking will be on top of Great Wall. This Yangbian Great Wall is really of the beaten path and connects the Border Defense Great Wall with General Xu Great wall. If you are in good condition, love hiking and would like to see some excellent wild Great Wall than this is your trip! Have a look at the pictures and you will understand what we are talking about.

Backgroud info

Zhenbian Fortress Village is located at Huailai County, Hebei Province. Once it was a frontier fortress along the defense line of the Great wall. There are two ancient scholar trees in town, and most buildings are Ming and Qing style. The city wall was built with large stones.

Five meters away from North of Zhenbian Fortress Village, lays Hengling Fortress, which is large-scale and well-preserved. You can see an ancient theater in the village, but the pictures on the pillar and roof beam became muzzy...
