Detailed Itinerary

After an early lunch, our friendly local apple farmer will set us off for a 3-hour hike through hills and fields on the border of west Beijing. We will hike around 1 hour on the gentle slope and reach on the Great Wall. After a short break, we start hiking up to the Great Wall. It’s a 1.5 hour hike to the highest point of the Great Wall in this area. There are a few parts where the wall is quite crumbled down but with a little help of your balance, they are easy to overcome. From the top of the Yangbian Great Wall, we’ll have a fantastic view over the valley, part of the Border Defense Great Wall and even the Guanting Lake.

Yangbian Great Wall Hiking Tour

Our second part of the hike goes over a mountain, through orchards and sunflower fields and towards the ancient Dayingpan Village. It’s a beautiful village that the government just started restoring. Only a few families are still living in this picturesque place but it seems like people are coming back. We will enjoy the scenery and take some photos. Just around the corner, our driver will pick us up and bring us back to Beijing.

Level 1:  Easy-Medium

We rate this trip level 1 as it is a 1 day hike on a fairly easy trail. There is one uphill hike of about half an hour to start with. The rest of the trail is just slightly going up and down. It’s a perfect trip for families with kids and people with an average physical condition will enjoy the trip as well. It is a safe trail but there are a few slippery spots so its good to wear shoes with a good grip.
